Human trafficking is a deeply harmful crime, and the financial footprint it leaves is one of the most reliable ways to identify and disrupt it. FINTRAC's Project Protect operational alert and the work of the Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking have given Canadian reporting entities a detailed picture of the indicators to monitor. This course equips compliance officers, analysts, and front-line staff to recognize the financial indicators of human trafficking and forced labour, to file STRs that materially help law enforcement, and to do so while treating victims with dignity and without further harm. The course is delivered with appropriate sensitivity and incorporates trauma-informed engagement principles.

You will learn the financial and behavioural indicators of human trafficking and forced labour, how to file an STR that materially helps law enforcement, how to engage potential victims with care, and how to coordinate with internal HR and external support resources.
