EXPLORE PROGRAMS
Credit union directors are accountable for the AML/CTF program under the PCMLTFA and applicable provincial legislation. This director-level training distils the AML/CTF regime, supervisory expectations, and program performance metrics that boards need to ask the right questions and make the right decisions. It is deliberately concise, free of jargon, and focused on the issues that directors are personally accountable for, including approving the compliance program, supporting the compliance officer's independence, and overseeing the biennial effectiveness review. Recent Canadian enforcement actions and provincial supervisory findings are used to illustrate the consequences of weak board oversight.

You will learn what the PCMLTFA and provincial credit union legislation expect of directors with respect to AML/CTF, what to look for in the compliance program manual, the risk assessment, the training program, and the effectiveness review, and how to evaluate the performance of the compliance officer and the program.
