EXPLORE PROGRAMS
Banks are Canada's largest reporting entities and operate under the joint supervision of FINTRAC and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI). Bank compliance programs are expected to satisfy not only the PCMLTFA but also OSFI Guideline B-8 on deterring and detecting money laundering and terrorist financing. This annual training is designed for bank compliance staff, branch personnel, relationship managers, operations, and risk teams. It covers PCMLTFA obligations across retail, commercial, wealth, correspondent, and capital-markets businesses, and addresses the supervisory expectations layered on top through OSFI Guideline B-8 and B-9, the Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Partnership-style information sharing where applicable, and other relevant guidance. Recent FINTRAC and OSFI findings against Canadian banks are used as the basis for the case studies.

You will learn how to apply PCMLTFA obligations across the full range of bank business lines, how to operate a documented risk-based approach across customers, products, channels, and geographies, how to file LCTRs, EFTRs, and STRs accurately at scale, how to manage sanctions screening across customer and transaction systems, and how OSFI Guideline B-8 expectations layer on top of FINTRAC's rules.
