A FINTRAC Compliance Examination Report (CER) is the supervisory tool through which FINTRAC assesses a reporting entity's compliance with the PCMLTFA. The CER process — from pre-exam document request, to on-site or virtual fieldwork, to findings letter and remediation — is one of the most consequential events in a reporting entity's compliance lifecycle. This course prepares compliance officers, senior leaders, and support staff for what to expect during a FINTRAC examination, how to prepare evidence binders that match FINTRAC's expectations, how to manage the exam interactions, and how to respond to findings and avoid administrative monetary penalties. The course incorporates patterns from recent FINTRAC examination outcomes and AMP decisions.

You will learn the structure of a FINTRAC Compliance Examination, the typical pre-exam document request, how to prepare evidence binders, how to manage the exam itself (including interviews and sampling), how to respond to findings letters, and how to remediate deficiencies in a way that closes the file.
