EXPLORE PROGRAMS
Title insurers play a critical role in Canadian real estate transactions and have visibility into structures, parties, and fund flows that can reveal ML risk. Although title insurers have not historically been a frontline reporting entity for many transaction types, supervisory expectations and counterparty due diligence increasingly require them to maintain a functioning AML program. This training equips title insurer compliance officers, underwriters, and operations staff with a working understanding of Canadian AML obligations relevant to title insurance, the ML typologies most likely to appear in real estate transactions they underwrite, and the diligence and reporting they should be prepared to perform or support. It is calibrated for both stand-alone title insurer compliance programs and those operated as part of a larger insurance group.

You will learn how Canadian AML/CTF obligations apply (or are relevant) to title insurer activities, how to recognize ML typologies in real estate transactions you underwrite, how to engage with counterparty due diligence, how to support brokers, lenders, and lawyers on red-flag transactions, and how to operate a credible AML program calibrated to your activities.
